Because I want to keep at least some record of these things on the off chance I get my grandest wish and move someplace where I don't have to give a shit if its hurricane season or not.

So, with the 2016 season winding down, numbers 21, 22, 23, and 24.

In other news, life is life. DJ has settled into his life as a welder and still loves it. Zach is halfway through first semester of his sophomore year and already has his eye on post-bachelors schooling. Diametric opposites, my boys.

Hope all is well with y'all. Peace.

Had some uneasy moments last night when the track shifted more to the west, but we dodged the bullet. Some rain, and we're still getting some gusty winds, but not much more than that for us.

Whew.

Here we go again. It's too early in the season for this shit. Looks like it'll be a fun night for me and my phobias. At least it's going to be moving fast - that's the only silver lining in this rotating band of dark clouds.

Piss off, Arthur.

Yesterday, we had a high temperature of 71.

Today, I'm working from home and Zach's off school because we're expecting ice and then between 3-5 inches of snow to start around noon.

I quote the awesome Gwen Stefani. This shit is bananas. B-a-n-a-n-a-s.

This is what I put on my Calendar at work when I changed my status to working from home:

A day may come when the courage of woman rises to test the mettle of a plastic car versus snow and ice, but it is not this day.

Snow in SE Virginia is usually cause for the world to stop spinning. And, of course, it did. Snow came at the worst possible time (afternoon rush) resulting in a bazillion accidents and people taking 4 hours to travel 20 miles. Funtimes. It appears I missed that fiasco by, literally, minutes. If I'd left work even 15 minutes later, I'd have been caught in the gridlock.

Now, we settle in and wait for the neighborhood streets to melt. The only things they plow or treat are the interstates and primary roads. Everything else they leave to nature. Annoying, but I can understand it. I mean, it's going to be in the 50s here on Monday.

In other news...

*insert a bunch of random crap no one GAF about and isn't really what I wanted to write anyway*

Yay!

I can haz snow!!

Looks like we'll end up with 2" total. And thankfully, I made it home from work before it got too bad. Pics on the news of the 4wd assholes with trucks overturned. Definitely didn't want my little Civic competing with the Darwin Award candidates.

We're down to occasional wind gusts and drizzle, and the bitch has now made landfall, so it's time to update the list.

because no one cares but me - number 19 )

And now, some hurricane comic relief:
