Good - found the dress I'm going to wear to DJ's graduation later this month
Bad - had an attack of sobs in the middle of Hallmark when it started to hit me that my little boy is graduating high school.
Good - Truly enjoyed Hatfields & McCoys (though I think I'm the only one I know who watched it)
Bad - I have a powerfully strong Johnse voice in my head, one that pokes my brain with sharp sticks...especially when "Bartholomew" comes on my iPod
Really Bad - I'd only want to play him with a Roseanna, to give them a chance at a non-Shakespearean ending...which means muse will remain in my head alone.
Good - For the most part, I'm proud of the young adult DJ has become.
Bad - however, sometimes he's really a complete dick

I can't believe one of your babies is graduating already! At least you still have another baby to go yet. I tell you, they aren't kidding when they say it goes by in a blink of an eye.
And my son can be a real dick, too. He's good 95% of the time but then he goes into full dick mode and I have to walk away.

I wouldn't mind so much if he wasn't primarily being a dick to his brother.

I kind of wish my kid had a brother so he could be a dick to someone else besides me. Ah, teenagers. They know everything.

I really respect a woman who can express both of those feelings. It should happen more often in a better world.
No one should be immune to the benefits of a loving, smart ass mother.
Xoxoxo
Your really big fan, Ashleigh
