A few days late, but hopefully not a dollar short.

I'm not sure what the hubbub is about LJ, but I've been crossposting for years and migrated all my entries years ago, so if it does go belly up, nothing lost. Yay.

2008 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015

1. What did you do in 2016 that you'd never done before?
Saw an empty nest repopulate. Sigh.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make them

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

4. Did anyone close to you die?
I lost my grandma (101) in April, and her sister (100) a few days after Christmas. I still miss grandma every day, but Aunt Vi and I were never really close.

February 2 - Case Dismissed - and the end of nearly two years of crushing uncertainty

Didn't get the job I applied for - though rumor has it my current VP blocked me even getting an interview for it.

A sinus infection, and then I got shingles this summer. That was a freaking joy.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Co-signed the loan on my son's scholarship car - trading in the well-worn Jeep Liberty for his Volkswagen GTI

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My mom. She handled her mother's passing, and the near immediate health problems/affairs of her aunt right after that.
My oldest. With rent at an insane rate and pay at a low one, he realized he was on the verge of digging an insane hole, he moved back home to save money rather than keep digging.
My youngest. Even taking junior-level classes as a sophomore (genetics), and organic chemistry, he's still maintaining a 3.9 GPA...and he was accepted as one of ten students to take part in a 2 year research program.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
The two contractors hired by my VP without my input, and my VP for blocking my possible transfer/promotion for her own selfish reasons.
