I've found it's more getting the right pliers, ones that fit the way you grip. I was using ones that were too thin, so it kept slipping out and chipping. Using ones with wider ends give me a better grip, I just have to get little sleeves of rubber to put over the ends and I'll be golden.
Who knew!?! I guess it's the same with needlework. You need to find what is comfortable for you to use on the material you're working on. I've got a couple platinum needles that are amazing.
Oh, you can start giving it out to all your friends for presents. I have so much knitted stuff I couldn't wear it in this lifetime, but I'm always giving people prints of my photos. ;)

They're copper :) I was going to use black as an accent, but my skills are still developing and I kept chipping the black. Maybe next time!
