1. What did you do in 2013 that you'd never done before?
Started taking Yoga classes - love it, sad that work interfered to the point I had to stop. Hope to get back to it now that the stress level's down a bit. Also started reviewing books online - and loving it!
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make them
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Two of my coworkers. It's been fun cooing over baby pictures and even cuddling pudgy babies when they bring them in
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My best friend's father. It wrenched my heart as she went through it and I wished we lived closer.
5. What countries did you visit?
None
6. What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013?
A backbone
7. What date from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Being with my whole, huge, loud Italian family for Christmas and the look of utter joy on my mom's face
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Taking charge of an entire website at work and delivering both versions on time, including utterly reworking one of them.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not standing up for myself enough, too passive-aggressive, too much pessimism at work and in life
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Had pneumonia over Christmas, knee and shoulder injuries that mean I can't continue one of my favorite workout classes, broken finger
11. What was the best thing you bought?
New skin care regimen I'm actually sticking to, new haircut that really boosted my self-esteem
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My youngest for continuing to drive his own education to the top 10% of his class, my husband for working slave hours and earning a promotion at work
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My oldest aka Peter Pan as he continues directionless and a few others (more disappointed than depressed.)
14. Where did most of your money go?
Living expenses, taxes (ugh, not thinking about that yet.)
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Movie/book releases, getting my new tattoo
16. What song(s) will always remind you of 2013
Maroon 5 (Daylight), Imagine Dragons (Radioactive), Capital Cities (Safe & Sound), The Script (Breakeven)
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
I. happier or sadder? About the same
II. richer or poorer? Probably poorer because raises mean more taxes
III. fatter or thinner? The same - which is a good thing because I'm not gaining back what I lost even off the meds
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Unfucking my habitat
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Getting upset over things I can't control/behavior of others
20. How will you be spending the holidays?
A lovely week in Ohio with my family over Christmas, then craziness at work getting ready for the NYE code pushes
21. How will you be spending New Year's?
Working until we have everything live (left work at 6.30), then staring at a computer screen
22. Did you fall in love in 2013?
Yes
23. How many one-night stands?
Nope, those days are over
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Person of Interest until (spoiler), Sleepy Hollow, Almost Human, Arrow
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Hate's an ugly word
26. What was the best book you read?
I read over 100 books this year and picking one fave would be impossible. Discovered and loved all things Dresden, The Fiery Heart/Indigo Spell, The Cut & Run series, Inferno, Boundless, and the list goes on
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Lorde, Imagine Dragons, Of Monsters and Men, Phillip Phillips, OneRepublic
28. What did you want and get?
Smartwatch, job title that fits what I actually do, return to cross-stitching
29. What did you want and not get?
Selfish things
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
The Host, Catching Fire
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Much less time spent as whipping boy/ghost
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013?
Dressed up casual - stopped going out on weekends looking slobby, started really working on hair and makeup
34. What kept you sane?
My two best friends.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
None, really.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
As I don't enjoy flying monkey attacks, I'll remain mute here
37. Whom did you miss?
I had a hard time leaving my family after the reunion in August and again at Christmas - and hate living so far away
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Not a new person, but became closer with someone I've known for a while and it's made life a brighter place
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013
Just keep swimming
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
My inability to come up with song lyrics stays steady for another year!
