Pretty soon this thing is going to just be year in review posts, but I figure it's better than nothing.

1. What did you do in 2017 that you'd never done before?
Gone Kayaking. Loved it so much, we now go paddling almost every weekend
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Still don't make them
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Former coworker.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
We lost our beloved lab, Dexter, this summer. In the end, it was quick. He went from fine to gone in a matter of days. He went quietly, with us around him, and now he's playing with his big brother over the rainbow bridge.
5. What countries did you visit?
None
6. What would you like to have in 2018 that you lacked in 2017?
A new boss.
7. What date from 2017 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
September 15th - the day I no longer had children. Just adults who call me mom.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Finally bit the bullet and replaced the roof. Also, celebrated 25 years married and 10 years at my company.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I let the idiot new boss get to me too many times.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Back spasms that lead to my greatest discovery - my chiropractor.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My MINI Cooper, Maggie.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Both my kids. Oldest for discovering what he believes in, what he doesn't, and researching those things rather than relying on Facebook posts. Youngest for finishing his first semester junior year, maintaining a 3.9 GPA and getting published.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Idiot boss who can't see that my attempts to help her avoid great, horrible potholes in her plans aren't me being a "negative nellie."
14. Where did most of your money go?
Tuition, taxes, cars.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Kayaking, my new Instant Pot, David's new smoker

I. happier or sadder? Same
II. richer or poorer? Poorer. Because college
III. fatter or thinner? Thinner, even tho I'm still about 20 pounds more than I should be, I'm comfortable with where I am

Alone time, reading, exercise

Worrying, pissing around on iPad at night
20. How will you be spending the holidays?
We had an amazing Pajama Christmas, just the four of us, with the boys spending all day Christmas at the table building their Warhammer models and hanging out with us, then both left for Atlanta and Boston respectively to spend NYE with friends.
21. How will you be spending New Year's?
Working. I always work on NYE pushing content that has to be live on 1/1

Stop doing things that hurt you, even if they only seem to make you happy.

Haven't done kayaking but I do love whitewater rafting. Playing in the water is fun. :)
And a Mini Cooper! I do want that to be my next car. Someday, if I ever have gainful employment and a permanent place to live.

I love my kayak because I can be out, on the water, getting exercise and not killing my already crappy knees.
I LOVE my Mini. So much fun to drive! Only took a few decades to get it rather than practical cars.
