I need to get off my butt...in a minute
Jan. 6th, 2013 10:32 amI've got a house full of Christmas decorations that need to be taken down...so of course, that's the perfect time for a journal post. (Yes, I usually do this on New Years Day...but I was so wrecked after working 12 hours on NYE, I couldn't fathom spending the day off doing anything but slugging out.)
Recap:
* I probably spent entirely too much time last night tweaking hell out of my blog layout - customizing a custom template, fighting with CSS, etc. - especially for something that has a grand total of 9 followers. I justify this by saying that I'm having fun doing it and that I'm learning my way around page coding outside of Sharepoint/straight content management (something that will help at work a lot.) That I'm not wasting my time even though I've considered deleting the thing as a pointless exercise several times over the last week.
* DJ and his BFF have been made probies on a professional paintball team. He was so cute, and so proud of himself last night. With all the self-doubt from the last few months, it was heartening to see him like that again.
* I seriously need to stay away from Thirty One parties. They're very, very bad for my bank balance.
* I'm starting to think that posters/commenters on the Goodreads discussion boards have been traumatized by proper spelling and grammar to the point they shy away from it now. Or they're all twelve year olds. Or possibly both.
* It always amazes me that no matter how many To-Do lists I create, I continue to fail at actually *doing* anything on them.
