So let me get this straight:
There was a second George Michael song, a performance by Muse, and a performance by the Royal Ballet...all of which were CUT OUT of the primetime broadcast.
And now, rather than watching The Who...we're getting a "special preview" aka commercial for a sitcom? One that looks like it wants to be Scrubs for Dogs but is really just...lame.
Wow.
I didn't think their coverage could get any worse.
I was apparently dead effign wrong.

Corporate Editor #1: Muse?
Corporate Editor #2: Yeah, let's cut them. And we only need one song by the gay dude, right?
Corporate Editor #1: Totally, yeah, cut his second. And ballet's pretty gay, too, that won't play to middle America. We'll cut that, too.
That's what happened. Trufax.

Date: 2012-08-13 11:00 am (UTC)Once upon a time I used to think the opening and closing ceremonies were my favorite parts of the Olympics. Much like halftime at the Superbowl.
Now I kind of actually want to see the sports, and when I think "oh I could go online and see that" about the opening and closing ceremonies, it's followed by "nah, I'd rather watch more..." of taekwondo or rhythmic gymnastics or swimming or running or something else that's personal for me in some way.
And that comedy? Every commercial that I saw for it made me NOT want to watch it. Even though it has Tyler Labine in it, who I generally adore. No way am I going near it.

Ballet was AWESOME, and I can't believe Darcey Bussell is 43.
Missing the Who - you did miss out there. Roger was in FANTASTIC voice.
